On November 7, 2006 in Alexandria, VA. Husband of Ruth Monroe Schmitt, father of Nancy Jane Allison-Schmitt, Wayne Dawson, Dan Richard, Monti Patrick, and Gary John Schmitt, step-father of Jack and Jim Naylor, brother of Leonard Schmitt. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 1 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy, Alexandria, VA. Interment Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 3 PM.
