Where Will Your Loved One Be Cremated?

Anyone shopping for a cremation needs to ask this question. If every crematory operated with high standards, would there be periodic news stories about law enforcement shutting down crematories for inhumane conduct?

Conducting several cremations per day without incident requires strict attention to highly technical details. If a crematory runs too hot, not hot enough, too long, or hasn’t had appropriate maintenance, unacceptable things happen. Those are just the facts.

Your Loved One Never Leaves Our Care

Cunningham Turch Funeral Home is one of a few Northern Virginia funeral homes that owns and operates its own private crematory. We do not use 3rd party contract crematories, as more than two thirds of funeral homes and cremation businesses do. Our facility is clean, secure and open for your inspection at any time — unless a previously scheduled committal or tour is taking place.

Our Staff’s Credentials & Oath

It takes more effort to ensure that every cremation is performed to the same exacting standards, with dignity and care, every time. That is why our crematory technicians are certified by the Cremation Association of North America. They have received many of hours in-depth training and advanced certifications to help insure the highest standards in operational competence and ethical behavior. Only they are allowed to perform cremations at our crematory. Also, they have each signed an oath committing their honor and their employment to upholding our highest standards. This signed oath is on display in the public area adjacent to our crematory. That is why you can have 100% confidence and peace of mind knowing we are taking care of your loved one.

Available for Your Personal Inspection

Please feel welcome to inspect our crematory at any time — unless a previously scheduled committal or tour is taking place. We encourage you to visit and to ask any questions regarding the services we offer and/or the cremation process itself.

How We Guarantee No Mix-ups

We cremate only one person at a time. The chance of a “mix up” is not any more acceptable to us than it is to the families we serve. That is why we adhere to a rigid 10-Point ‘Positive Identification’ Process, and involve two staff members for every single cremation. We encourage you to see for yourself how carefully we approach caring for every loved one entrusted to our care.

If you have any concerns or questions about cremation, please call us at (703) 549-1800. We are always available to assist you with your needs and wishes.
