Gene A. Long, 89, of Alexandria died Ocotober 5, 2017 in his home.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 12pm, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA 22314. A Life Celebration service will begin at 12pm. followed by interment at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Bladensburg, MD.

In today’s world, we have neighbors but seldom see them. We have known Gene for many years, living in the same neighborhood. Years ago, he would walk around the neighborhood and that is how we got acquainted with him. I talked with Earl Young today and found out about Gene’s death. Our sympathy to the family of Gene. In addition to being a neighbor, our son, Wayne, built the “canopy” addition to his house many, many years ago.
