Wilbert Herman Ammann of Alexandria, Virginia died on March 18, 2020, at the age of 94. Known as Bill, he was a federal government employee for 30 years, the last 21 years in the Washington, DC area. Bill was born in St. Louis, Missouri, was married to Blanche Ammann (now deceased) for 55 years, and retired to Gainesville, Florida in the 1980s. Bill was a volunteer at Catholic Charities of Gainesville, Florida and an active resident in Turkey Creek Forest activities. Bill is survived by his son, Paul Ammann and his wife, Abbi Ammann, his daughter, Mary Wallace, grandchildren and spouses, Ryan and Candice Wallace, Jeremy Wallace and Savannah and Mauricio Aguilar, and great grandson, Colton Wallace.

Bill will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, hopefully later this year.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities in Gainesville, Florida in Bill’s memory.
