Steve Stanley Harris, 75 born in Forest City, NC on July 16, 1939, to the late Lydia M. Harris and Walter C. Harris, died on November 9, 2014. He is also preceded in death by his son, Steve S. Harris, Jr., his siblings, Ray L. Harris, Jerry Ann Baker, and Winfred D. Harris. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Peggy A. Harris; daughter, Jennifer L. Harris; and siblings, Albert W. Harris, Nancy Jones Jerry, Diane Watkins, Fay McKeown Danny, and Michael S. Harris; brother in law, Robert Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.Steve was an Honorary Retiree of Local 10 Washington DC National Elevator Industry after 38 years of service as an elevator mechanic.The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St, Alexandria, VA 22314. A Life Celebration service will be held at the funeral home at 11am Thursday, November 13, 2014, followed by interment at Mount Comfort Cemetery.
