Sherry Faye Cross, 83, of Arlington VA, died November 9, 2018 at the Capital Caring Halquist Inpatient Hospice Center in Arlington surrounded by her family.  She was a devoted wife and mother who was preceded in death by her husband, Michael  F. Cross.  She is survived by her son, Michael Yates Cross.

Ms. Cross, who was born and raised in Dickson, TN, was the daughter of Delbert Doyle and Clayte Elizabeth Yates.  Ms. Cross was an avid reader, especially of southern literature, who enjoyed foreign travel, fine dining, classical music, art and art history. She was a longtime volunteer for the Smithsonian and the National Gallery.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA 22314.
