Robert Rowland Shaefer, Colonel, USAF, Retired of Alexandria, Virginia, formerExperimental Test Pilot, Career Air Force Officer, father of three, husband of the late Berta Lucia Shaefer, and long-time member of the Army Navy CountryClub, died in his home on Saturday, August 9th at 10:30 P.M. He was 88 years old.He is survived by Michael Kent Shaefer and Stephanie Lynn Shaefer both ofAlexandria, Virginia and Jeffry Rowland Shaefer of Hingham, Massachusetts. Heis also survived by his daughter-in-law, Peggy Lowney Shaefer and two grandchildren, Sam and Bridgit Shaefer, also of Hingham, Massachusetts.. Family and friends will honor and celebrate his life on Thursday, November 20th at 1 PMat The Old Post Chapel at Fort Meyer with interment to follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
