Jane Fitz-Simons originally of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, born February 3, 1943, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 16, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Sippel and Frances Mathews, and cherished son Thomas “Tommy” Fitz-Simons in 1993. Jane is survived by her loving husband Daniel W. Fitz-Simons, her wonderful sister Mary Norman Lyshkow, and brother Daniel Sipple, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless devoted friends.Jane was a nurse many different professional capacities, including Arlington County Public Health, and most recently as an instructor at Georgetown University. She was a master gardener and long distance walker. She was also a lover of cats and the beach especially Rehoboth. “Oh for heavens sake!!”

I only met Jane a couple of times at Georgetown. But, I have heard so many wonderful things about her as a clinical faculty from her students in public health. I am glad that she has left this legacy behind. I only wish I had the opportunity to let her know how much they gained from their experience with her and how she made a difference in their education. My deepest sympathies to her family
