James “Jimmy” Scrivener, 83, of Alexandria, died peacefully on January 4, 2018 at Capital Caring Hospice, surrounded by his family. Jimmy was born August 10, 1934 in Washington, DC to the late James J. Scrivener, Sr. and Doris Thompson.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betsy Keyes Scrivener; children, Kelly Scrivener Alzer (Mo), and Jak Scrivener. He is also survived by Jeff, Jon, and Jay Reed and by his brothers, Richard Wayne Thompson and Howard Jenkins (Barbara); and his half brother, Norman Williams, Jr.
The family will receive friends, Friday, January 12, 2018 from 11am to 12pm at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA. A Life Celebration Memorial service will follow at 12pm.
