Gregory was the youngest of three kids born to Lillian Graves. He was the proverbial “Momma’s boy” who loved his mother. Greg was a New Yorker who loved sports and was an extraordinary basketball player. He was also a lover of cars. Even as a young man when most boys were starting to get interested in girls, he saw the beauty of cars first. He could recognize and identify them by just looking at the grill or headlights. He could tell you the make, the model and the year it was made. He attended DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, where he suprisingly learned to play the tuba and earned a High School letter that he wore proudly on his school jacket. He served for a brief time in the U, S. Army. He was an excellent cook who specialized in southern cooking as well as being a person who loved to eat good food. He knew love in his life and had three children, Tenisha, Kayla and Gregory. He was once lucky enough to have been married to Theresa Graves, who had continued to be a close friend and influence even after their divorce. He was a free spirit who everyone loved and he will be missed by his sister Glenda and brother Kelvin. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 8pm, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA 22314.
