Georgia E. Smith, 98 of Alexandria, died February 21, 2017 at INOVA Mt. Vernon Hospital, Alexandria, VA. Georgia was born November 11, 1918 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Eli and Carrie Edwards in Texas. She is survived by her daughters, Denise Dickgieser, and Zita Correa Craig; grandchildren, Tracy Hartman, Sierra Nolan, and Raquel Correa.A Mass will be held 10:30 AM Thursday March 2, 2017 at Saint Louis Catholic Church, 2907 Popkins Rd. Alexandria, VA. Her inurnment will take place at 12:30 PM Thursday March 2, 2017 at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodward Rd. Clinton, MD 20735.

While I did not know Georgia Smith, I am a co-worker of her granddaughter, Raquel Correa. Raquel is a lovely person, great co-worker, and someone with a deep appreciation of family and friends. I can only assume these traits were inherited from her ancestors, especially her beloved Grandmother, Georgia. May she rest in peace knowing her legacy lives on.
