Carroll, Cornelius Michael, 24 May 1941 – 30 April 2019.

Mr. Carroll passed away on April 30 in Arlington, Virginia. He was most recently a Pension Analyst for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Pension Fund of Alexandria, Virginia. Over his lifetime he was honored to serve as an enlisted sailor in the US Navy (1959 – 1968), and serve the City of St. Louis as an Alderman representing the 2nd Ward (1973 – 1979). After public service, he worked in private industry to provide for his family.

He was the husband of Catherine (Farrell), father of Ellen (James Rogers), and grandfather of William Rogers. Mr. Carroll was the son of the late William Anthony and Celestine (Joyce) Carroll. Brother and brother in-law to Michael Carroll (Margaret ‘Sue’ Rafferty), Celestine (William ‘Ed’ Miller), James Carroll (widower of Mary Louise ‘Molly’ Rock, and friend and companion to to Betsy West), Margaret Sue ‘Peggy’ English (widow of Roger Carroll), Regina (widow of William ‘Ed’ Noonan), Patrick Carroll, Rev. Lawrence Farrell (widower of Jane Brosnan), Mary Ann Farrell (James Hoff), James Farrell (Judith Frost), and many many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, as well as a Godfather.

He was a member of the USS Sproston Reunion group, and the Tin Can Sailors – National Association of Destroyer Veterans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Arlington, Virginia when final internment details in a National Cemetery are completed. A memorial Mass will also be held in St. Louis, Missouri at a later date.
