Maria Marcelina Bond, age 85, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Alexandria, VA, passed away on November 8, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Ronnie F. Bond. Loving mother of Ronnie F. Bond, Jr. (Lisa), Anthony Ray Bond, Lorie Saadipour Bond (Sia Saadipour ), and Carmen Milagros Saldana. Cherished grandmother of Gabriela Marcelina Saadipour, Serena Saadipour, Matthew Bond, Sam Leonardo Saadipour, Jorge Pabon, and Mibel Pabon.
Maria was nurturing, generous, and showed us that hard work and honesty are the most basic values to achieving your goals, because with integrity, “You win every time.”
She was a woman of deep faith that endured a difficult life and therefore, relied on the power of prayer when times got tough, and I would often find her on her knees at the bedside praying.
What we will remember most about our mother is her unwavering love, commitment to family, compassion, and the ability to forgive others.
The family will receive friends at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 10:00 AM in St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 3815 Russell Road, Alexandria, VA 22305. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306.
