Karl E. Nestler, Sr. 87, died on October 8, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Nestler was in the armed forces for many years. He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II, before completing 30 years in the U. S. Army. During this time he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars, and also as a Military Police Officer. Mr. Nestler was also an usher at St. Louis Catholic Church for 40 years.He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Grace Nestler; his children, Mary Joyce Thomas, Theresa Nestler Willis Mark, Karl Nestler, Jr. Michelle, Raymond Nestler Susan; 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.A Memorial Service will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, Alexandria, VA . Please contact the church for details. An inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA.
