Barbara “Bobbie” Lee Hudson, 86, of Inverness, Florida passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 under the care of Hospice of Citrus County, Inverness. She was born on April 10, 1927 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Frank and Edna Burke Roland. Barbara arrived in this area in 1976, coming from Alexandria, VA, and was past Vice President of operations at the 1st Florida Bank in Inverness. She was a resident of Highland Terrace and was a member of TOPS. Barbara enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and loved her family. She loved her Duke basketball as well as the Washington Redskins. Barbara was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband James R. Hudson; two sons, William J. “Skip” Hudson and Michael Rhett Hudson; and one daughter, Judith Macey. Survivors include her children, Frank “Gary” Marsha Hudson of Springfield, VA, Timothy “Tim” Judy Hudson of Inverness, James “Jimmy” Tanya Hudson of Alexandria, VA, Susan Gary Plymale of Homosassa, FL, Carolyn Mark Pierce of Dumfries, VA, and Nancy Andy Beard of Lorton, VA; Williams wife, Judy of Crystal River FL, Michael’s wife, Karen of Woodbridge, VA, Judith’s husband, Bill of Crystal River, one brother, Charles Roland; four sisters, Joan Roland, Joyce Shepard, Sibby Rorer, and Linda Bolton; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. The family will be receiving friends in visitiation on Wednesday, March 26, 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness. A visitation will also be held at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home in Alexandria on Friday, March 28, from 6:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M., with the funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Barbara will be laid to rest at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA, following the service.
