OBITUARY

Wanda Marie Mills (Brown), aged 65, suddenly passed away on November 3, 2023, in Fauquier, Virginia. She was born on August 16, 1958, in Alexandria, Virginia, to the late Bernard O. Brown, Jr (Dickie) and Margaret Jean Brown (Jeanie).

Wanda was a woman of immense warmth and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand and bring comfort to those around her. Her generous spirit knew no bounds as she tirelessly cared for her loved ones, refusing to accept anything less than their happiness.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son, James (Jim) C. Mills Jr, her daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Conte (Mike) and Kimberly Bailey (Spencer) who were lucky enough to call her Mom. Her siblings, Richard Brown, Patricia Huffman (Mike), and Mary Brown-Wery (Brian Wery) and Wanda’s best friend of 40 years and honorary sister, Cathy Collins (Steve).
Nanny’s Precious Angels Savannah (Tyler) Conte, Faith Conte, Ava Conte, Paige Conte, Aiden Bailey, Gracelin Bailey and Great-grandson Carter.

The love she showered upon all of us will forever be etched in our hearts.

As we celebrate her extraordinary spirit, let her essence guide us to embrace life’s joys and sprinkle a little bit of kindness wherever we go.

She will be remembered for her kindness, love, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her.

A gathering of remembrance shall take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, located at 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. The viewing will begin at 10:30 am, services will be held at noon. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 S. Kings Hwy, Alexandria, VA.

A gathering location for afterwards is still pending. Once one is set, it will be posted on the kids Facebook pages.

Per her wish, she did not want flowers. In lieu of flowers, if anyone felt inclined to, they may make a donation instead, to help offset costs. Donations are being collected via Zelle. Please contact one of her kids for more information.
