Soledad Lazo Bernardo

Soledad Lazo Bernardo, 77, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 30, 2021. She was born on March 20, 1944 in Cagayan, Philippines to Catalino and Nieves Lazo. She was the 6th of 7 children. Soledad migrated to the United States in 1972. She worked in the food service industry for many decades. She was a hard worker and took pride in being able to provide for her family. Soledad was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. To all those who knew her she was a petite woman but with an even bigger heart.

Soledad is survived by her three children: Angelo Bernardo, Allie Bernardo and Valerie Bernardo, one grandchild: Andrew Tucker. She is also survived by sisters Ester Hadloc and Hilaria Castillo, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To celebrate Soledad’s life the family will receive friends on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 3-8PM at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA. Mass will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10:30AM at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, Alexandria, Virginia followed by a burial service at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, Virginia at 1:00PM.
