Joshua Stone

On Monday, February 6, 2017, SSgt Joshua Charles Stone passed away at the age of 34 years. Joshua entered the Marine Corps on 22 October 2001 and began his career as a 6492 Precision Calibration Electronics Specialist for Helicopters. He became a 0241 Imagery Analyst Specialist, had taught school at the Tactical Imagery Analysis Course TIAC, and was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Strategic Intelligence BSSI while attending the National Intelligence University at the Defense Intelligence Agency. When Joshua taught his MOS, he was assigned to the Marine Detachment at Ft. Belvoir. He was also assigned to the III MEF Watch when he was in Oki. Joshua was a Black Belt Martial Arts Instructor with the MCMAP Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, and was also an All Marine and All Inter Service Rugby player. Joshua is survived by his beautiful daughters, Abby and Gracie Stone, his parents John and Sandra Stone, and his brother Jordan Stone. He will be sorely missed by family and friends. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cunningham- Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St., Alexandria, VA 22314. Funeral services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday March 9, 2017 at 9:00 am. Please enter the cemetery at the Memorial Avenue entrance, drive up to the gate, and ask for directions to the Administration Building. It is suggested that everyone be at the Administration Building by 8:30 am.Immediately following, everyone is invited to the Fort Meyer Officers’ Club. There will be pastries and refreshments available when we arrive at the club, and then there will be a luncheon buffet starting at 10:45 am.
