Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Steller of Alexandria, VA; his daughter, Katherine Lisa Severson of Palm Harbor, FL; a sister, Cynthia Dale Burrows of Summerville, SC; and two granddaughters, Victoria Glenn Tate and Reese Avery Severson both of Palm Harbor, FL. Skip was predeceased by his sister Ruth Marilyn Guerke. Arrangements by Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. www.cunninghamfuneralhome.net

Skip had many hobbies – one of which was building and flying remote control model airplanes. He learned to fly at an early age as his Dad also flew and took him out to the field with him. If the weather was good, he was always out on the field. Our dining room table was his hangar to repair a damaged plane or build another. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and camping. We had a lot of fun taking off for a weekend of camping. We would hop on his 360 and head to the beach or just ride the country roads with our fellow riders. Another adventure we decided that a boat would be fun, so along with our friend Don, we bought an old fixer-upper with a cuddy-cabin. We had the boat for several years, we spent many weekends on it and had lots of fun. For a couple of years we joined a Gold Prospectors Club in Virginia so we could play in the creeks and get dirty – and maybe find a flake or two of gold. As we got older we bought a Pleasure Way Camper it was just right for the two of us and our dog. The convenience of the RV allowed us to spend more time traveling to the beach, visit our families and friends along the East Coast. One of the happiest times was having our grandchildren and daughter ride with us.
Time with friends and trips to visit family were always special times. They will forever be in our hearts.
