Edgar Martinez-Ortiz

On the morning of July 27, 2023, Edgar Martinez Ortiz, age 69, passed away to be with the Lord. Born to Carmen Ortiz and Agustin Martinez on January 6, 1954, in San Juan Puerto Rico.

Academically and professionally, Edgar was an Engineer and musician at heart. Devoted husband to Elba Hernandez, loving father to Edgar, Juan Carlos and Edelisse, joyful grandfather to 4 grandchildren, teacher, friend and an inspiration to all whose lives he touched.

For Edgar, music filled his days while spy novels filled his nights. Dreaming of the moment he would be the perfect secret spy for the U S Government.

His love for sweets reflected in his caring personality, it wouldn’t take much to prompt him to extend a helping hand, wise words, or a simple hug.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. -Romans 8:37-39

A service will be held at Groveton Baptist Church, Richmond Hwy Alexandria, on Tuesday August 1, 2023, from 10:30 AM-2:30 PM
