Denise Elaine Brown Popejoy died on July 21, 2016 in Fairfax VA due to complications from vasculitis. She was 65. Denise was born on March 4th, 1951 in Montebello, California to her parents, Arthur and Naomi Josephine Brown. She worked as a loan processor at Desert Empire Mortgage in Palm Springs, California for over 20 years. She retired and moved to Stephens City, Virginia in 2010. She dedicated her remaining time to loving and caring for her grandchildren. Denise is survived by her Mother Naomi Josephine Brown, her sister, Sandy Jones of Nampa Idaho, daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Gabriel Muffley of Stephens City, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Jason Johnson of Front Royal, Virginia; and grandchildren: Sean Johnson, Kyler Johnson, Daniel Muffley, Nolan Johnson, and Aaron Muffley; cousin, James Collett and Family of California, niece Leann Lingelbach and Family of Washington, niece Shelly Ames and Family of Idaho. She is preceded in death by her Father, Arthur Joe Brown. Denise had a generous and compassionate heart that lead to numerous friends in her life that she considered family. Celebration of life will be held the evening of Thursday, August 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 128 Blackburns Ford Drive Stephens City, VA 22655
