David Lyndon Lovell

David Lyndon Lovell was born on March 22, 1945 in Bartica, British Guyana. He was one of five children to the late Claude Lyndon Lovell and Estelle Dolores de Mattos. David was educated in Guyana earning a certificate from the Guyana Technical College in metal fabrication engineering.David migrated to the United States of America in October 1972. He became a Citizen of the United States September 12, 1978 and started his career as an auto mechanic with Good Year, and continued with AutoZone and PepBoys until his retirement.

From childhood, David showed an interest in engineering where he designed and fabricated kites and model airplanes. Being a self-taught machinist, David would manufacture model engines for radio control (RC) boats and planes where his design would out perform his competitors. His tenacity for detailed design as-well-as his strong engineering background helped him to develop advanced strength hardening techniques for dynamic speed shafts and pistons for model boats and airplanes. Overall, his hobby included RC modeling, where he has an extensive collection of boats and airplanes.
