Catherine A. Langley

Catherine A. Langley, 76, originally of Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully the afternoon of September 27, 2018 at the Sunrise at Countryside Retirement Home where she wassurrounded by her family.

She is survived by her son, James Langley, his wife Theresa, and two loving grandchildren, Zadie and Xander.  She is also survived by her siblings, Patricia Tontini, Gerard Nixon, Joseph Nixon, Dennis Nixon, Donald Nixon, James Nixon, and Michael Nixon.

Mrs. Langley was an avid reader, who enjoyed collecting cameos, music boxes, and yellow roses.   She also greatly enjoyed spending time in the company of friends.  She taught mathematics for nearly 40 years in Prince Georges County, Maryland as well as overseas for the Department of Defense in Germany and Turkey.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm Monday, October 1, 2018 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alex. VA 22314.  A Mass will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2907 Popkins Ln. Alex. VA 22306. Interment will be private.
