Carlton Jerome Wright, Sr. affectionately known as “Jerome” entered this earthly life on Tuesday, December 17, 1946 and departed this life on the morning of Friday, August 26, 2022.
Jerome is survived by three children Tanya Sampson, Myron Sampson and Carlton Jerome Wright, Jr (C.J.), five grandchildren, sister Gloria Miller of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and brother Joseph Wright of High Springs, Florida.
Among other things Jerome was well-known and will be remembered for his beautiful speaking and singing voice. He sang in renowned and local church choirs across the City of Philadelphia and throughout his life was requested to sing at weddings and other momentous occasions.
During his career Jerome worked in dentistry, was a barber and later a small business owner. Early in life, as a young adult Jerome served in the Branch of The Marines in The United States Military during the Vietnam Conflict where his Military Occupational Specialty was Demolitions Specialist.
Jerome’s hobbies included philosophy, religion, psychology, HUMOR and working with his hands carving and molding.
Jerome is being remembered today and will forever live in our hearts and minds. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
