Anne Marie Bradford of Alexandria Virginia, daughter of Katherine Valenti Bradford Aho and James Houston Bradford (both deceased) died on November 10, 2024. Anne is survived by her sisters Lisa Bradford Bogaty (David) of Knoxville Tennessee; Pam Bradford Stephens of Winchester, Tennessee; Thomas Anthony Bradford (Emma) of Winchester, Tennessee; nieces (Kathy (Wayne) Hilton, Lauren (Mark) Zook, Sharon Sanders and Katie Bradford); nephews (Kenny Stephens, Tommy Bradford, Daniel (Jade) Bradford and Nicholas Stephens) as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Anne graduated from Franklin County High School (Winchester), the University of the South (Sewanee) and Duke University (Durham, NC). She worked for the Veterans’ Administration and the Executive Office for Immigration and Review. She retired in 2010.
An avid traveler, Anne visited Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, Asia, Greece, Turkey and Italy and enjoyed absorbing the cultures of all. She also traveled extensively in the United States.
Anne Marie loved reading and helping young children share her love by volunteering as a reader at local schools. During her high school years, she worked at the Franklin County library. She was active in her church, Washington Street United Methodist Church of Alexandria. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the church or your local library.
A celebration of life will be held at the Washington Street United Methodist Church at 10:00am on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Cunningham Turch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
