Sean Mcgrath

Sean was born on May 22, 1995 in Los Angeles, California. His name at birth was Rashawn Aubrey Lewis. His mother Eileen McGrath adopted him when he was eight years old. He has lived in Alexandria, Virginia from 2003 until the time of his death on January 1, 2021. He is survived by his loving mother and by his beloved wife Zeinia and their two daughters, Caliana and Camelia. He is also survived by his daughter Mia, his grandmother Rosemary, and his siblings Ariana, Cedar, Skei, and Mikara.

Sean was a graduate of Mount Vernon Elementary School, Phillips Academy and T.C. Williams high school where he volunteered to assist the football team.

As a child Sean earned a taekwondo high brown belt, participated in Boy Scouts and attended a Boy Scout summer camp in Goshen, VA.

He spent summers with his family at Rehobeth beach and attended Alexandria recreation department summer camps at Chinquapin Park where he was a counselor in training during high school. Sean loved to attend movies and tinker with technical devices with his brother Cedar.

After high school he worked at Armani Exchange in Pentagon city.

He enjoyed his many trips to New York City to visit his grandmother where he especially enjoyed Broadway shows, and to Monticello New York where he went trout fishing, rode a glider plane and explored a cave. He was an avid skateboarder and even tried Parque. As an adult he was a bodybuilder and loved to read and share his knowledge on nutrition and anatomy. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Sean was a talented rapper and had several popular songs on Apple Music. He was always a stylish dresser and had a stint as a model in Las Vegas. Sean’s winning smile and engaging sense of humor made everyone who knew him well love him. Although his life was tragically cut short he had a rich life that was full of love and laughter.

A Memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.

Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery 1300 Wilkes St., Alexandria, VA 22314 Friday , January 8th at 2 PM
