
Vera Smith, 88, of Arlington, VA, died May 18, 2023
Vera was born on July 22, 1934 in Manchester, England to James Hoyle Greenwood and Annie (Corbridge) Greenwood.
She married Marlin Ray Smith on August 14, 1954 in England.
AS a dental assistant, she worked for all five services, plus the VA, over a span of four decades concluding at the Pentagon, and received several awards. She also served in the Naval Reserve.
She was also a supermom, doing housekeeping all the way through her late 80’s
Preceding Vera in death were her daughter Jacqueline York, and her sister Beryl Greenwood.
Survivors include her daughter Victoria Smith of Arlington, VA, granddaughter Cheyenne York of Colorado, one sister Elizabeth Fogle of Annapolis, and two brothers Malcolm and David Greenwood of the UK.
