Sheila Marie Nelson was born March 16, 1948 to the late John Leonard and Louise Crenshaw, in Washington, D.C. Early morning on Saturday, November 6, 2021, Sheila gained her wings while in hospice care in Alexandria, VA.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother Louise Elizabeth Smith Crenshaw (2012), father John Leonard Crenshaw (1992) and ex-spouse George Tyrone Nelson, November 3, 2021.
She leaves to mourn her passing her two children: Yolanda N. Nelson and Eric T. Nelson. Eight grandchildren, Erika (Brandon), Shenell; Rayvon, Diamond, Angel, Dominique, Kierra and DayJaron and four great-grandchildren. Her sister: Carolyn Hedmond (Dennis). Two Uncles: Jerome (Margaret); Bernard (Butch)
(Ida). Three nieces: Dana, Taylor and Taniea; 1 nephew Damian. Her close cousins The Smith Family: Rana, Ida, Butch Sr, Butch Jr, Marc, Demia and Karla Smith and her devoted friend Linda Terry along with a host family and friends.

Sheila attended Arlington County Public Schools where she grew up in North Arlington on Halls Hill where she accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the neighborhood and family church; Mt. Salvation Baptist Church. She lived and worked in Arlington her entire life. She spent her early career at the Department of Motor Vehicles and then retired from Red Top Cab Company. She loved hanging out with family playing cards, listening to music and dancing, cooking, watching sports with her Uncle Butch and we cant forget her famous football pools.
She will be in our hearts forever.
Services will be held on Saturday November 20th at 2:00 pm
