Robert “Bob” Ray Montague, 81, a devoted husband, entered his eternal rest on July 27, 2021 at 9:15am in INOVA Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria Virginia, with his beloved wife, Jacqueline Montague by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Montague and Mary Montague; sisters, Eloise Coleman and Ann M. Conway.

Robert was born March 11, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Educated at Dobbing AVT High School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a retired veteran of the United States Air Force. Approved, Firearms Certified Training completion, by the Department of Criminal Justice Service, Commonwealth, VA. In addition, he retired, respectively, from AT&T in 1990, where he was the first African American Engineer on the East Coast, and Lockheed Martin, where he was in Law Enforcement in 2003. Robert was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan to the end. His love for Christ was undeniable. One who loved to Praise and Worship the True and Living God. Spiritually, he was a member of the Alfred Street Baptist Church and later a member of Love International Church, then a member and Elder of Living Ministry (Apostle David, and Pastor Sharlene Kin Lock), growing in love and service for Christ and his people.

Along, with his wife Jacqueline they hosted Standing for Jesus in Love and Unity on grounds of the Nation’s Capital for five (5) consecutive years. His spiritual growth continued, completing School of Prophets, Evangel Cathedral Bible School; The Harvest Circle Intentional Fellowship of Churches Reformation (Diploma of Biblical Studies); Abundant.

Robert had a great appetite for the fine dining. Often times he enjoyed cookouts with family and friends. Many of his hobbies were spent flying or sailing around the harbor enjoying the
beautiful sights of the Potomac, surrounding areas and spending time at their time shares together. Often times he would entertain himself with music, music of the era of the “oldies but goodies.” Early in his professional career he mentored young men from the American Youth Community. An impeccable dresser who often topped off his outfits with a stylish hat.

He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy his devoted wife, Jacqueline Montague; sons, Robert Montague, Emmanuel Onwuzo; daughter, Maria Perry; brother, Eugene Coleman; sister Lucinda Hampton (Alfred). Grandchildren, Kiarah J. Montague, Raiden R. Montague, Karlee K. Montague, Brianna Murphy, Bianca Murphy, Emani Onwuzo, Kevin Perry, Kanisha Perry, Kashmere Perry, and Kiara Perry. Great-grandchildren, Raven Jones and Kiouri Eason. Brothers-in-law, Arthur Coe, Donald Coe, Booker T Murphy, Bobby Murphy, and Joseph Coe, and sisters-in-law, Geraldine Parks, and Barbara Murphy. Also leaving behind his best friend Leroy Harris and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 10:30 AM until the time of his Life Celebration at 11:30 AM. Interment will be at a later date in Quantico National Cemetery.
