Richard Donald Rogers, 86, of Alexandria, passed away on 17 November, 2018.

Richard was born 11 October 1932 in Paterson, New Jersey to mother Beatrice Maines Glazier, and father Richard Rogers Sr. When he was young, he studied art in school, eventually becoming a model maker at US Naval Research Lab in Washington. He was also a veteran, having served during the Korean War.

Richard met his wife, Jean Adams, in the District, and they were married in 1958. Through his passing, he is now reunited with her (she passed in 2013). He leaves behind two daughters: LaVonne and Angela, two grandchildren: Nicholas and Brandi, and three great-grandchildren: Mary Evelyn, Sulley, and Linus.

Richard was naturally very talented and skilled, a man with many hobbies. He was always busy working on something! We feel blessed to have had him in our lives as long as we did.

Granddaddy, thinking of you today. It’s been almost two years already, how is that possible? Miss you so much. ?

  2. Janet Dow Littlejohn says:

My deepest sympathies to both LaVonne & Angela and their families. I have so many wonderful memories of him to cherish.
Back in the day he created a simple metal box with lights that came on at random. He called it his “do nothing box”. I was totally fascinated with it. He was a perfect neighbor.

  3. Brandi Hubbard says:

    Miss you, granddaddy!
