Condolence Messages

  1. Ginny Hoover says:

Ray was so proud of his family. I was shocked to hear the news of his passing. Ray was one of the most professional and caring bosses I have ever worked with. And, yes, quite a dresser. There is a saying I would like to share — don’t know where it came from — “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the man who died. Rather, we should thank God that such a man lived.” Rest in peace Ray.

  2. Dave Gilliom says:

    To Ray’s Family,
I just learned of Ray’s death today, November 9. I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to tell you in person how sad I am that he is gone. We worked closely together for many years at FAA and continued our friendship after I retired in 2011. Please accept my condolence and that of my wife. I know you will miss him terribly. He was a great man.

  3. Marcia Payne says:

I just learned for Ray’s passing and wish I could have attended his celebration of life. I worked with Ray for many years and he was my dear friend and trusted collegue. I want the family to know how dear he was to so many within the Federal Aviation Administration. I worked alongside Ray on many projects when I was the Division Manger of the Flight Standard Training Division. I could always count on him for his sage advice and guidance. Since my retirement, I often have thought about Ray and prayed he was healthy and happy. I am so sad to hear of his passing. The FAA and I are better today because of his many contributions to the agency and the caring, thoughtful conversations we shared.

    With deepest sympathy, Marcia Payne

  4. Mitzi Warren says:

Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your hearts. I wish I could have been at the visitation to share with you how Ray would talk about so many of his family members and close friends with love and pride. But across the miles, I pray you be comforted by the outpouring of love surrounding you and respect many had for Ray.

  5. Becky Link says:

I had the pleasure of working with Ray for several years at Dulles Airport. One of the kindest and professional men I ever worked with. And oh my gosh, our staff always felt he was the sharpest dresser. My sincere condolences to Ray’s family. May you find comfort and blessings during this difficult time. Fondly, Becky Link

  6. Jedon says:

My condolences to the Towles family, may loving memories comfort you at this time. I worked with Ray at the FAA, he led by example. He always greeted me with that big smile…his smile made me smile. He will be truly missed.

“I know you’re smiling down on me from heaven like so many friends we’ve lost along the way, I know eventually will be together….One Sweet Day”

    Rest in Heavenly Peace

  7. Edie Whitehead says:
