Raymond Herbert Kiernan Jr. was called home to God on Monday, October 3, 2016 with his family at his side in Alexandria, Virginia.He was a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corp and served in the Korean War. Raymond received an honorable discharge in the fall of 1952, and shortly thereafter he married Yvonne “Pearl” O’Sullivan of Aiea, Hawaii. They had three daughters whom became the center of Raymond’s world. “Ray” as his fishing buddies called him was an avid weekend fisherman and enjoyed many BIG catches. He is survived by Yvonne, his two daughters Debra and Cynthia, 5 grandchildren; Javen, Jessica, Ryan, Janna and Paige as well as one great granddaughter; Zoey who he nicknamed “Squeaky.” He will sorely be missed by his family but they are at peace knowing he has joined his daughter, Kandy, son in-law, John and many friends that have gone before him. The family will receive guest from 2pm to 4pm, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron St. Alexandria, VA. The Life Celebration service will be graveside at 12pm on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Highway Alexandria, VA.

Sadly, losing a loved one to death is a painful experience.
