Phillip Shirley Harrington lifelong resident of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on July 15, 2012. He was a 29 year veteran of the Alexandria Fire Department. He is survived by two daughters, Dianna L. Harrington and Sherry L. Krebs along with many sister in-laws and brother in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Harrington, his twin brother Melvin Burton Harrington and other siblings Robert, Clarence Buck and sister Cora Pat Logan. Friends may call 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 Thursday July 19, 2012 at Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, where services will be held 9:30 a.m. on Friday July 20, 2012, with interment at Mt. Comfort Cemetery
Diane and Sherry, We are so sorry for your loss. Your dad touched so many people in his life here on earth. You were the apples of his eyes and you have to know you will always have a guardian angel looking over you.
I knew Merv, Phillip S Harrington’s brother at the Fannon HVAC company. Merv introduced me to Phillip S a number of times and I came with my father to the viewing for Phillip S’ wife in 1999 as we knew Merv well and my Dad knew Merv’s wife and his sister Cora Logan and her family. I send my deepest condolences as I met Phillip S I don’t recall what name he went by, I think I recall Sherell a number of times through Merv. Most recently I saw him as he was at work and I work for Fannon’s and we ran into each other and we traded stories about Merv. Phillip S and Merv had a wonderful family and I send my condolences to the family. Phillip’s notice in the post was posted up at the Fannon’s company yesterday as many people in the office remembered him when he was coming in to get Merv sometimes. My grandmother also had fund the Harrington twins when she knew them years ago through the Fannon’s office.
I met him and my father knew him and was very loved by all. We will miss him.
