Paul Barker, departed this earth and transitioned to be with our Lord and Savior on May 28, 2022.

Paul Barker 68, eldest of 5, born in India to missionary parents, Dudley and Lorraine Barker, (deceased). He is survived by his wife, Sherri Holmes Barker, 27 years of marriage, and their two children Joshua and Ariel. Paul’s immediate family lives in Australia, the Barker Family: Twin Sister: Kathy Morris (Hugh), and their 3 children Sally Armstrong and her daughter, Jamila; Josh Morris and his 2 children Charlotte & Corbin; Renee Garvin (Nathaniel) and their daughter Lily ; Brother: David Barker; Sister: Suzanne Dellis (Angelo) and their three children Nick Dellis (Emily) and their 2 children Jorge & Buddy; Stephen Dellis (Grace) and their 2 children Theodore & Louie; Michelle Buckley (Jackson) and their son, Nolan; Sister: Ruth Killingback (Paul) and their 4 children Mark Baker (Rihannon) and 6 children: Vincent, Lucian, Henrik, Lisbeth, Bastian, Emitt; Daniel Baker (Michelle) and their 4 children Cooper, Liam, Lucy, Kieran; Richard Baker and Lynne Zeldenryk. The Holmes Family: Stuart Holmes Jr (Butch) and wife Margaret and their 2 children Nicholas wife Candice (Butch) and their 4 children: Connor, Libby, Mae Louis, Emerson; and Ryan wife Kristen and their 2 children Willow, Ford ; Mark Holmes wife Cathy and their 3 children Jake, Sam, Ben; Tim Holmes and wife Mary and their son, Tyler.

Paul and his twin sister were born in Lucknow India, August 27, 1953, to missionary parents Dudley and Lorraine Barker, at the age of 5 his family returned to Australia. He gave his life to Jesus at 7 years old, but then went after worldly passions during the 60’s, worked as a fashion model and managed punk and R&B music bands, before coming to the realization that God loved him, and he recommitted his life on the beach one night when he got filled with the Holy Spirit at 32 years old. He then went to Europe and lived in Italy for 20 years where he met and married his beautiful wife Sherri and had two wonderful children, Joshua and Ariel before coming to America in 2009. In 2000 he received a prophesy about putting together a Bible based English language course and began writing Living Words. God has inspired him and given ideas, words and strategies to complete and publish 64 books. Living Words LLC was officially launched on May 1, 2022. (www.livingwordsschool.com)

Paul had over thirty years of successful professional experience in diverse industries and cultures: as an author and translator, as an entrepreneur he started up many projects such as a cultural exchange club, graphic design agency, and import/export agency from India to Australia and export of pottery and silk garment from Australia to USA for an Aboriginal company. He had photos published in New Horizons magazine and managed a 3,000 acre sheep breeding and wheat farm and successfully introduced pigs and native birds to the livestock program, and lupins and pistachio nuts to the crop program.

He worked as an English teacher and language school director in London and Rome, where he introduced 6 languages to 9 campuses and lectured in global marketing management, sales and direct marketing, media and public communication at the European School of Economics, and recently in the USA became an IT technician and software trainer and stock market day trader.

Paul travelled extensively throughout Asia and Europe , and has Surf Life Savers’ Bronze Medallion, PADI Open Water and Advanced Divers, Search & Rescue Certificates, he loved windsurfing and playing chess. He was a Leadership Team member, Follow-up Team chairman, Youth Bible Study leader, Men’s Team chairman, Sound System chairman, and part-time pastor at the International Christian Fellowship in Rome Italy (1997-2002).

Paul battled Parkinson’s for the last seven years of his life, but through it all he had a passion to finish strong, no matter the obstacles in his path. Paul completed the calling he was given, he loved his family well, he loved his church and above all, his passion for the Father’s heart grew stronger and stronger each day. I can hear the Lord say “Well done good and faithful servant, enjoy your inheritance”. Your legacy lives on…..We Love You heaps Paul Barker and miss you immensely. The Celebration of Life Service for Paul will be on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 1:00pm at Relentless DC Church 7890 Backlick Road, Springfield VA 22150. If attending in person, please RSVP to 703-969-0085
