MIGUEL E. VALDES – Concert pianist/organist and teacher. Born in Cuba in 1937, died September 12, 2014 at Inova Alexandria Hospital. He studied at the Habana Conservatory, continuing his piano studies at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, Spain in 1969. He came to the US in 1975. Not having a family of his own, he will be sorely missed by his adopted family of forty three years: Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Nassif, their children Joseph, George, Anna, Cristina and Thomas, their spouses and children, and his dear and faithful friend Gregory Dobbins. Reverend Bill Teng, choir members and congregation of Heritage Presbyterian Church, where Miguel was the organist, will offer a memorial service, at 8503 Fort Hunt Rd., Alexandria, VA 22308. Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heritage Presbyterian Church: Miguel Valdes Memorial Fund.
