GALDENZI, MELISSA ROGERS – 29, of Wildwood Crest, NJ, and Falls Church, VA, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015. She was born in Wildwood Crest, on January 19, 1986, to Diane and Jim Rogers. Melissa graduated from Wildwood High School, received her bachelor’s degree from University of Delaware and went on to earn a master’s degree in Special Education from Marymount University. After a brief stint teaching English in Thailand, Melissa brought her loving demeanor and zealous personality to the greater Washington, D.C. area. It was there that she would have the fortune of meeting and falling in love with Paul Galdenzi, and the two of them married in Cape May, NJ, on December 15, 2012. After building successful careers together in their northern Virginia community, Melissa gave birth to their beautiful daughter Charlotte Diane Galdenzi on August 9, 2014. Melissa always had a passion for knowledge, and her ability to counsel and educate went far beyond the classroom. Her family and friends could always count on her for sound advice, mindfulness in perspective and excellence in literary recommendation. Melissa’s smile was the window to the beauty of her heart and soul, a soul that brought joy, laughter, and an appreciation for everything that her life touched. She was a standout runner in high school and continued her strides in the world of fitness through marathon running, hiking and vinyasa yoga. Melissa is now and will forever be dearly missed by her husband, Paul; her daughter, Charlotte (her sunshine); her parents, Diane and Jim; her younger brother, Jimmy; both of her grandmothers, Grace and Helen; many wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins; and her loving in-laws, Jackie, Perry, Danielle and Charlie. The service to celebrate Melissa’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6th, 2015, at Crest Community Church, 5901 Pacific Avenue in Wildwood Crest, NJ, at 12:00 PM (noon). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Washington Regional Transplant Community (WRTC) or any charity of your choice.
