Mary Lucia Beall Orsini was born in Baltimore, MD on May 13, 1925, and passed away peacefully in her home in Alexandria, VA on Saturday, June 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph J. Orsini, son Michael Orsini, daughter Antoinette Orsini, and her siblings Agnes, Carroll, Catherine, Gertrude, Loretta, Alice, and Frank. She is survived by her daughters; Benita, Andrea, Lucy, Rose, Gloria, Patricia, Rita, and Alice; her grandchildren; Michael, Mark, Jessie, Aja, Benita, Jeffrey, Joseph, Adonica, Melinda, Megan, Angela, Miguel, Thomas, Teresa, Erefama, Hannah, David, Christian, and Paul; as well as several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary ‘Lucy’ was the youngest offspring of the late architect Frederick Edgar Beall and Mary Elizabeth Linnbaum Beall. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.Mary met Joseph ‘Joe’ Orsini, from Olean, NY, while working for the Government in Washington, D.C. They were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1946 at St. Ambrose Church in Baltimore, MD, and were together for over 56 yrs., until Joe’s death. They were devout members of St. Rita Church in Alexandria, VA for over 50 years. Together they raised ten children, and were often seen dancing at functions in the area. Neighbors and friends fondly recall seeing Mary taking a walk every day. She will be remembered by all for her sweet smile and calm disposition.Friends and family are invited to attend her viewing at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, July 3, 2014.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Rita Church, 3815 Russell Road, Alexandria, VA 22305, at 11am on Saturday, July 5, 2014.Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at: www.alzfdn.org.

    My father, Frank Beall was Auny Lucy’s brother. He loved his little sister & they were the closest of all his other siblings. Aunt Lucy was always so sweet & kind. She was always so nice to me!! I am so sorry that I didn’t make it to the viewing. The weather was so bad that my husband didn’t want to drive in it. Much love to all of my cousins. I am so sorry for your loss! I pray that God will surround you with His peace in the days a head. My father passed away 4 months before your dad & this year my mom passed away 4 months before your mom. It is so hard to loss both of your parents. My heart goes out to you all!
