Maria Bernardina Hurtado, age 72, of Woodbridge passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 3, 2019. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Raul Moises Hurtado; beloved daughters, Ana (Rene), Juana, Jacqueline, and Adriana; loving sons, Marco (Claudia), and Cristian (Rona); cherished grand children, Cristian, Yasan, Alex, Raul, and Izaac; dear brothers, Jose (Gregoria), Adolfo (Lidia), Arnulfo (Flora); and darling sisters, Juana (Eduardo), Cristina (Rene), and Rosario.
Maria joins in rest her parents, Hugo Montes and Rosa Machicado; daugters, Veronica, Karem, and Rosa; sons, Ernesto, Carlos Alberto, and Raul, and brother, Leonidas all of whom predeceased her.
Maria was born in 1946 to the late Hugo Antonio Montes and Rosa Machicado in La Paz, Boliva. She was a resident of the United States since 1991. Maria enjoyed spending time with family and she was a dedicated wife, mom and grandmother. Maria was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her loved ones, most especially over the holidays. She will be remembered as the perfect mother to her children, and a loving and giving woman who was always donating her time and resources to a number of charities.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home 811 Cameron Street Alexandria, Virginia 22314; a service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 3000 Dale Boulevard Dale City, Virginia 22193. Interment will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery following the service.
