On March 17, 2009 at his home in Marietta, GA. He was a longtime resident of Alexandria, VA. Husband of Dawn Fones, father of Kathleen Newton and James Fones, brother of Alvin Fones. Also survived by five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Cunningham Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 PM. Interment will be on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at 2 PM at Mount Comfort Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Preservation Fund at Downtown Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA.
I am blessed with the time I was able to spend with Mr. Fones and his wife, laughing, enjoying a good dinner, learning and embrassing God’s word. God Bless
Dawn……it has been years since we have seen you. We were long time members of Downtown Baptist Church and knew you and Marshall from the church. However, I knew Marshall because I work at Vepco now Dominion Virginia Power. I am sorry for your loss, but we know that Marshall is with the Lord and one day we will see him.
