I remember his first overnight stay in our half of double in Metairie ..poor thing had an ear infection. Sandra rushed him to dr, got meds and stayed at Moms for a visit. Then his first Mardi Gras Parade and visit on West Bank. Gave him the pictures last year in case something ever happened to me… He is my first nephew and name started with J..We all named our sons stating in J. Used to laugh and say so many J’s. Lol My sis and husband live in Houston but always made it to my Moms at Christmas. Many good years of memories with him, my cousins, and my family and friends then and family now. As the oldest he always took such good care of my Mom and Step dad. Stationed there once that was all my Mom talked about. Josh came , had dinner, took us to dinner, changed lightbulbs, ect ect. He got married and had his first child Abby ..again the first in our family. Several visits during that time I will forever cherish especially the one when my sis came. Va was a long way for all. It meant a lot. And then Hawaii. Skip went for work and got to hold Gracie after she was born. Before that Josh always called Skip for Career advice and had eventually ended up in the same field as an imagery analyst and stationed near us. I spent a month in St Louis with my son and he stayed here looking after my daughter, elderly dog, house and Skip. Lol I still have the same steel scubby pad he had left years ago. That best describes him as a person. A heart full of gold who loved his family and friends.

I met Josh when he was about seven, and watched him grow into the Man and Marine he became. He excelled at everything he did, and to get in the Marine Corps he lost almost a person in weight since he was a football player and wrestler. He did everything asked of him and then some. I could not be more prouder to call him my nephew and Brother in Arms, he was a shining example of what we should become, showed up everyday ready to go no matter what the circumstance, gave 110% each everyday, even when times got tough with his health he continued to push. Josh you were definitely the Marine for those around you to emulate, I am so very honored to have had the opportunity to watch as you moved through your career, and listen to all those Marines you taught talk so highly of you. They were proud to have had you as their mentor and instructor and will carry on you legacy in the Imagery Community for generations to come. You made a lasting effect on countless people and will not be forgotten. God Bless You and Keep You SSgt Josh Stone, you stood the wall and defended our country, that is a very honorable profession, I will miss you each and every day, and will see you again in Valhalla Brother. Semper Fidelis

June 5th, 1982. That was the day our whole life changed and my husband and I became the proud parents of Joshua Charles Stone. That was the day our oldest son was born into this world. My husband and I were ecstatic. Joshua was 10 pounds, 2 ounces. Our entire family was excited. There were playgroups, birthday celebrations, and lots of family gatherings.

Joshua was very smart and loved sports. He played baseball, football, wrestling, and later rugby. He was very active at St. Frances Cabrini and was in choir at school.

Joshua always wanted to be a Marine ever since he was little. He was in ROTC. He was determined to be a Marine and nothing would stop him. Headstrong and hardheaded, loving and kind. That is the words that I would use to describe him. He was a planner. He was always planning his future. We are so proud to have a son who was a Marine. So proud.

Joshua was always there for us. He was a good son. Both loving and strong. He was a great big brother to our Jordan. Taking him out to Pei Wei, buying him cool gifts, and playing video games with him.

This last year when Joshua was battling cancer, he attended college while enduring chemo. He didn’t want to ask for help or depend on anyone. He was a fighter and determined.

We love and miss Josh so much. His beautiful girls, Abby and Gracie, miss him so much. I will be certain that the beautiful memories that we all have of their daddy will live on forever in their hearts.
