Helen J. Evans, 88 of Alexandria VA died at her home on December 10, 2015. She was born June 13, 1927 to the late William and Margaret Peevely of Speedwell, Tennessee. Helen was a long time resident of Alexandria and lived in the Rosemont neighborhood for over 50 years. Coming from a farming family she enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden every summer. Helen is also known for her love of children that extended beyond her own and enjoyed socializing with her neighbors. Including her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Clarence Evans and her daughter, Norma Gail Stentzel.Helen is survived by her 3 daughters, Ann Lewis; Mary Hutchinson Steve; Donna Marr Robert, and her 2 sons, David Evans Elaina and James Evans Karen; her 2 sisters, Pauline Ausmus and Kathy Cheek. She is also survived by her 12 loving grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to celebrate Helen’s life at Cunningham Turch Funeral, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria VA 22314 on Monday, December 14, 2015. Helen’s family will receive friends from 10-11am and a life celebration service will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria VA.

    love one can be extremely difficult to cope with. Many have found comfort in
    the many promises found in God’s word the bible. Acts 24:15 has special meaning
    for many. There it speaks about the resurrection.
    By means of the resurrection our loving Creator, Jehovah God, will restore life
    back to those sleeping in death as promised Titus1:2. Please embrace this
    wonderful promise of God during this difficult time.

    Condolences to your family. May you receive comfort from the word of God during this time of loss. The Bible’s resurrection accounts give us a sure hope. Read John 11:39-44.
