Helen Belle Massey Campbell, age 92, of Alexandria, VA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Melvin L. Campbell. Loving mother of Dana M. Cole and Craig L. Campbell. Cherished grandmother of Kelly Huffman (Shane), Gary Hanna, and Ja’Nell Wimbish. Great grandmother of Ashley Huffman, Emily Huffman, James Hanna, and Macy Hanna.

Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a 1946 graduate of George Washington High School. Her family and friends were the most important things in her life. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing slots. Her grandson-in-law Shane, was responsible for pushing her around in the casino in a wheelchair. Traveling was also an enjoyable time for her. In her younger days, Helen also liked to play BINGO.

The family will receive friends at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 10:00 AM until the time of her Life Celebration at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery where she will be reunited with her late husband Melvin.

    To Dana & Craig,
    I was so very sorry to hear about your Mom’s passing. We were first cousins (her Mom & my Dad were brother & sister) and shared so many of our growing up years together. We kept in touch only at Christmas it seemed after I moved to Richmond in 1966 but I thought about her so often and we had always planned each year to meet for lunch every year. So many happy memories to recall. I hope you find comfort in knowing that so many others share your loss.
