Gerard (Jerry) Joseph Hines, 67, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 26, 2022. His two daughters were at his side at his time of passing. Jerry was born on June 4, 1954 to Edward and Margaret Hines of Amityville, NY. He was the youngest of six siblings and grew up with many loving watchful eyes. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Barbara Smith (nee Hines) and James Hines. He is survived by his two daughters, Erin and Kathleen, and siblings Edward, Richard and Margaret.

Jerry grew up on Long Island where he attended La Salle Military Academy. He spent his career in sales, speaking fondly of the time he spent representing Mack Trucks. His two daughters, Kathleen and Erin, were born in Syracuse, NY. After moving and spending over 20 years in New Jersey, Jerry remained a lifelong New York sports fan. He loved to watch classic movies and television shows, especially while watching with Erin. Jerry was always drawn to spending time near the water – fishing, boating, or a day at the beach.

Jerry is remembered as fun-loving and good natured, readily making friends in any situation. His daughters remained his greatest joy, and he would eagerly share his pride with anyone he knew. He never missed a soccer game or dance recital, always ready to coach or cheer on his girls. In recent years, Jerry spent most of his time in Virginia to be close to his daughters.

The family will receive friends at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 10 AM until the time of his Life Celebration at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Sturge Weber Foundation, https://sturge-weber.org/participate/donate-today.html.
