Gail Maske Love passed away on Friday, May 24 at Brandywine Senior Living, Alexandria. Aged 73 years. She is survived by her beloved sister and best friend, Susan Maske Hathcock who she proudly referred to as “the best big sis ever”! Gail is also survived by her two nephews – Galen and Byron Hathcock who she lovingly called “her boys”.

Gail contracted polio as a toddler at 18 months old and lived in pain her entire life with post polio syndrome. Despite her handicap, she graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree and worked as a chemist with EPA for 28+ years.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Gail on Sunday, June 9 at 2 PM in the Chapel at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home at 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johns Hopkins University and Medicine, Gift Processing for Gail Maske, 3400 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218.
