Edward DeSanto

Eddie at Redskins 2 1

Edward DeSanto entered into his Eternal Home with GOD on May 22, 2020. Eddie was born 28th November 1949, to the late Frank DeSanto and June (McGeehan) DeSanto in Harrisburg PA. He spent his childhood in Steelton, PA and Arlington, VA – He attended school at Kenmore Junior High … Wakefield High School, with a focus on studies in Electronics Engineering and Mechanical and Automotive Engineering … and continued his studies in Electrical Engineering at NOVA and George Mason.
Surviving family includes: his Proud Brother and “Best Friend” Tom, and his Favorite Sister-in-Law, his Son, several Dear Cousins, Nieces and Nephews, his Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchild. He Loved them ALL.
Eddie … an energetic and spirited young man at the age of 20, proactively enlisted into the U.S. Navy where his primary training included Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering as well as many Cleared Projects. Eddie served Our Country with Honors during the Vietnam Era and also served throughout The Pacific, and additionally was stationed at (GITMO) Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Naval Bases in Norfolk and San Diego.
Upon Eddie’s Honorable Discharge he returned home from military service, he continued with his interests in Telecommunications, and passion with Automotive Engineering and Electronics Engineering… because he enjoyed designing and building fast Cars and Fast Computers. Eddie enjoyed the Washington Metropolitan area, so he lived in one of the High Rises in Alexandria, VA… that way considering Eddie’s Service-Connected Disabilities, he had everything close by.
Eddie was well-known for his caring for others and his outgoing personality… Eddie spent a great deal of his time with fellow Veterans … both in friendship and helping to provide other Veterans in their time of need. Eddie genuinely enjoyed helping others.
One of Eddies many passions in life was NFL Football and one of his favorite teams … the Dallas Cowboys, never missing a game that was aired on Television. If you saw a Cowboys Hat or Jersey at Fed-Ex field, you knew Eddie made it to that game. As irony had it, Eddie’s other Favorite NFL Team was The Washington Redskins. He enjoyed attending games when able with his brother and sitting in the cigar lounge after games talking with former players. Eddie made many friends in the Montecristo Cigar Room at FedEx Field … of course while wearing his Cowboy’s Jersey and Hat. He was personal friends with Mark, the Redskins Stadium Announcer and other Redskins Vice Presidents and Cheerleaders. He was also an avid NY Yankees fan and attended many Washington Senators games to which we still have rain check stubs dating back to the 60’s. Eddie also had a significant Passion for music … He and his Brother would regularly attend many Large Concert Events at most of the local Venues. Some of Eddie’s favorites were Elton John, Rolling Stones and The Eagles.
No matter what challenges Eddie was going through, he always had a story to tell, a glimmer in his eye, an unforgettable smile, and an immense love for his Family and Friends. He was very proud of his Italian Irish heritage and strong roots… always focused and looking at the positive side of life as best he could and remained very optimistic. Eddie continued to Fight the Good Fight… always looking forward with his Positive Attitude
Eddie is finally at Peace now, Free of Suffering and Pain, enjoying Eternity with GOD and the rest of his Family in Heaven. The baton has officially changed hands again … May Eddie Rest In Peace !
