Debbie Sun Asato was born in Korea, the Land of the Morning Calm, on October 29, 1932 and died at home in Alexandria, VA on February 20, 2017 with her adoring family by her side. She was the matriarch of her family; an amazingly determined woman who took meticulous care of her children and loved ones. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Asato is survived by her husband Osamu Asato; her children, Mary Jane, Amy, Suejean and Sam; her grandchildren, Alexander, Rachel, Oliver, Molly, Clara, Zoe, Chloe and Ellie; her brother, Il Yong Choi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
