In Loving Memory of Dayton Agrey Goldfine Schroeter (November 21, 1954 – March 13, 2020).
Dayton Agrey Goldfine Schroeter of Manchester, CT and Fort Washington, MD, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2020. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 21, 1954 to Joyce and Edgar Schroeter. He attended Whitfield Town All Age Primary School and Excelsior High School. He migrated to the United States in 1974 and attended Hartford State Technical from 1974-1976, where he earned an Engineering Degree.
Dayton began his career working for Aetna’s Printing Department in 1976; and in 1977 gained employment with the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, as a Civil Engineer where he retired after working for the State for 34 years.
Dayton leaves behind his wife Carol; son Mark (Atiyah); daughter Andrea; (Children’s mother Venus); stepdaughter Tanisha; stepson Jamel; mother Joyce Thompson; grandchildren Assata and Ava; three sisters Sybil, Grace, and Trudy; two brothers Paul and Michael; other relatives; personal and professional friends.
Dayton was dedicated to his family and close friends. He loved traveling, reading, going to the movies, playing and watching sports, going to the beach and had a niche for repairing and building. He had a passion for trucks; was very reliable and lived by a motto of “taking care of business when necessary.”
In July 2019, Dayton Dayton became a baptised member of the Breathe of Life Seventh Day Adventist Church, Fort Washington, Maryland.
Burial will be held on March 27, 2020 at 11am at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 240 Davie Rd., Davie, FL 33317.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Johns Hopkins Prostate Cancer Foundation, 5255 Loughboro Road, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20016. The family of Dayton Schroeter wishes to thank Johns Hopkins Hospice and Palliative Care, as well Breath of Life SDA Community.

My deepest condolences to the family of Dayton. He was like a brother to me. I am still getting over the fact that he is gone. So much left to do. I am praying that the family of Dayton will stay strong together. Dayton was like a beacon for family and togetherness in which there is now a void.
My heart was heavy when Carol first told me of Dayton’s illness and crushed when she told me of his passing. My prays of condolences, comfort, and peace to the family.
Dayton was a very special loving and caring person who will be truly missed but fond and unforgettable memories will always be with me.
God has called Dayton to be with him and it’s his wife (sole mate) , children and other family that we need to lift in prayer as they endure the lost of their loved one.
Dayton has been an inspiration in my like. I’m certain his Holy Spirit will rest him the covenant of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
