I met David when he came to work at Marathon Oil; we became good friends, and later on, next door neighbors on Hamby Road. I have sidesplitting stories about him on drilling rigs, and in the office, and heartwarming stories about how he viewed and treated all others around him. He was a rock for me when the layoffs happened in 1986, and I will always appreciate his heart. I’m so sorry we lost contact.
Thank you to the family for sharing him with us in west Texas. We were privileged, and I’m grateful to have known him.
David was a special part of our family. He sat for our dachshunds and even our children. We are so so saddened to hear of his passing. Scott was going to call him today to visit about a friend who had passed. We have lots of funny stories of him. One of our favorites is our children reading their bibles at his house. They were reading the “begat part of Jesus’ genealogy”. David told the kids, “there was a lot of begattin going on!” We loved him and are grieving with you.
