Dave Beach (Bernard David Lee), age 83, of McLean, VA, passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on December 26, 2019.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Angeline (Aguinaldo) Beach.  Loving father of Leigh Carey (Sean), Lauri Schmidt, Lynne Beach-Wilson (Landon), David T. Beach (Angela) and Jeffrey Beach, and step-father of Maria Olsen and Michael Leonard.  Cherished grandfather of Alissa Wise (Keith), Courtney Carey, Megan Carey, Christina Medlin, Samantha Schmidt, Brian Schmidt, Ashley Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Caroline Olsen, Christopher Olsen, Renee Rogers (Jason), Andrew Beach and Skyler Beach. Great grandfather of Mia Wise, Miles Medlin, Sloane Jones, Asa Rogers and Nicholas Rogers. Dave also is survived by former spouse and mother of his children, Kay Beach.
 
A native of Alexandria, VA, Dave was the much-loved only child of Bernard and Leona Beach. He was an award-winning fullback for Alexandria’s George Washington High School football team. Dave was awarded a four-year athletic scholarship to the college of William & Mary and attended Foothill College in California. He was former president of the George Washington High School Alumni Association and writer/editor of the GW newsletter. Dave taught computer programming for Honeywell International at military facilities in New Orleans, Germany and other locations. He joined the International Monetary Fund’s Treasurer’s Department in 1968 and retired in 1995. He also served as the official photographer at the IMF/World Bank annual meeting in the Philippines. While in the Philippines, the Filipino news photographers designated him an honorary member of the Filipino news corps. A lifelong football fan, Dave worked for the Washington Redskins as a part-time team photographer. He attended all the Redskin Super Bowls with the team.

Dave and his wife Angie loved to travel. For 19 years, they joined Dave’s high school buddies and their wives for an annual trip to the outer banks of North Carolina. Dave and Angie visited numerous countries and parts of the United States, including his favorite, Hawaii.

The family will receive friends at the Cunningham Turch Funeral Home, 811 Cameron Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314, on Friday, January 10, 2020, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, and 6:00 until 8:00 PM, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, in Alexandria, VA.
 
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.

    Times like these are the hardest losing someone so full of life , love and definitely laughter makes this loss so great . We loved David so very much and growing up around him and his family made my time spent with him so special David had a way to always make everyone around him smile and laugh his singing skills and jokes were always the best I have a hard time finding the words during these very difficult times I know how special he was to us and my mom and him were very close always.
