Christian Isaiah Balmes, 26, passed away unexpectedly on December 20th, 2022.

He was born on February 13th, 1996 to Christopher and Eva Balmes in Rancho Mirage, California. Growing up, Christian was involved in many different sports with an emphasis on football and wrestling. After graduating from La Quinta High School in 2015, Christian enlisted into the United States Navy and worked his way up the ranks to E-6 First Class Petty Officer. In 2017, Christian and Anaid met in Sasebo, Japan while stationed at the same command. Christian and Anaid married in 2020 and welcomed their daughter Lunara in 2021. He was a quiet and reserved individual but when he made you laugh, it was usually to the point of tears. Some of his pastimes included watching anime, reading manga, playing video games, fishing, trying new foods, and exploring new places with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his kind and compassionate heart.

Christian’s legacy will live on through his wife, daughter and their three cats; Geralt, Butters and Sinbad. He is survived by his Father Chris, Mother Eva, Brother Valentine, Sister Kristen, twin Brother Christopher and Nephew Nova.
His celebration of life will be held at Cunningham Turch Funeral Home on January 21st, 2023 at 10:30 am.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to Healing Warriors Program. Flowers, cards, memorial or GoFundMe contributions are all equally welcome.
